Hi, just installed Avira Free on a new Windows 11 Notebook at a customer. Please consider under what conditions can Avira have an anti-virus product again, that does not offer anything except intercepting malware with a warning (no auto-deletion). Please consider offering us software which simply pops-up a *warning* if there is a file on our system it considers malware. There is no way that experienced users who drive image their computers and who configure every little detail of their computers, from right-click menus to turning system protection on/off, we cannot have so called "cleaners" taking over / uncontrollably modifying our machines. However, we have a different major problem now, a product-abandoning issue, that seems to have no solution:

It just occurred to me that a solution to this could be complete blocking of all internet access to Avira, and then allowing internet access manually when our computers are not in use. So it's a question of Avira downloads or work downloads, can't have both when I start my laptops once a week on limited internet connections. Regarding screenshots of update history, specifically this is about having multiple laptops which, if not used for a week, when started, immediately start pulling downloads, which take up resources immediately upon startup, preventing their use on limited speed internet connections. I am very interested in continuing to use Avira.Ĭonsider the following user feedback from a loyal customer and nothing else: In order to get infected file protection, customers must agree to also install "optimization features" which modify user systems for reasons that go beyond anti-virus protection.ĭoes Avira offer 'pay-for' software that would allow us to continue to benefit from Avira's antivirus definitions while turning off "optimization features"?Īvira has been consistent in having some of the best anti-virus definitions, and I have therefore spent considerable time promoting Avira on computer forums as it truly did have definitions that were better than most, if not all, free and pay-for antivirus software.

Please correct this if it's not accurate: I understand that Avira no longer offers anti-virus software only.
